Wendy trained as a pianist and won Auckland’s top competition for young pianists at the age of sixteen. After working with her own students Wendy realized the key role music played in their development. After experiencing a wide variety of employment environments Wendy gained a master’s degree in education and realized more about how music brings excellence to human experience. This is especially apparent in restoring power to the people that is eroded in the name of progress. She wrote her memoir, “Michelangelo’s Missive” to show how music in education is often overlooked as an effective tool in bringing about children’s well-being. Wendy currently lives and works at the Hermitage Hotel at Aoraki/Mt Cook meeting people from around New Zealand and the world who love to visit the beautiful outdoors.
