Bio:

Sharyl is a dynamic and compassionate speaker, coach, and curator of stories dedicated to helping people discover the interconnectedness of our diverse world. With a keen understanding of community, she encourages individuals to embrace their unique stories and fosters an inclusive and thoughtful understanding of what it means to belong. She has over 15 years of experience in secondary and higher education, as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion work, giving her a unique perspective on the power of storytelling to catalyze social change. Through her authentic and engaging approach, Sharyl inspires audiences to embrace vulnerability, challenge societal norms, and find strength in their own narratives.

Sharyl is the co-founder of Kardia House, which helps people frame difficult issues for accessible and deliberative conversations through their model of Generous Communication. One way this is achieved is by supporting writers in their journey to become published authors of socially conscious non-fiction books. To date, their authors have won numerous book awards and an Amazon best seller.

In addition to her consulting work, Sharyl is a SPEAK pop-up event producer, beginning with SPEAK: Homecoming and the upcoming event, SPEAK: Intersect. She is also the co-founder/producer of the Belief & Belonging Festival, an annual event showcasing speakers from around the country. Sharyl is married with two children and a menagerie of animals.
